Well, I made it home in good fashion; the week went too quickly. Sally and I had a great time visiting with an ol' legend in our sport and running our dogs with his. Georgia is a big, beautiful, wild place to run dogs (full of deer, too, which we didn't want the rabbit dogs getting onto) but thankfully we didn't have any deer chases. My 11-year-old mama dog was glad to get back in the briars, and her pups were happy to get a sight chase in "Daddy Rabbit's" puppy pen to help them get started. Pics and videos:
…and here's a video (not a very good one – I was too busy visiting to film) of the above pups sight-chasing a rabbit in Daddy Rabbit's training pen.
But the best part of the trip was watching ol' Dolly in her element. She's lost a step or two, but she was still able to keep up and overtake the others at times. Daddy Rabbit called her a "huntin' machine", and he is right. Those tenacious Georgia briars didn't phase her one bit:
So then…that's all I can handle tonight. Back to work tomorrow as usual and I'm not even unpacked, but I will try and get caught up on the neighborhood, the QotDs and Searches, reading Sylph's wonderful Passions updates, and if I think of anything from the trip y'all might really get some good out of I will post it later. *smiles and hugs to everyone*
